According to an official release, users can now seamlessly pay with Circle’s USDC stablecoin while shopping on Sony’s e-commerce platform. Chin Tah Ang, General Manager of Crypto.com Singapore, emphasized that this integration is more than just a payment solution—it’s about building accessible, real-world use cases for digital assets.

“This integration not only benefits users by giving them another way to use their crypto in the real world but also expands Sony Electronics Singapore’s customer base through a simplified crypto payment experience,” said Ang.

Sony Deepens Web3 and Blockchain Involvement

This announcement comes as Sony continues its push into the Web3 and blockchain space. The company had previously launched its Ethereum Layer-2 network Soneim through its subsidiary, SonyBlock Solutions Labs, based in Singapore. This initiative highlights Sony’s long-term vision for a more immersive and decentralized digital future.

While USDC is currently the only supported cryptocurrency, Sony is reportedly considering expanding its crypto payment options in the near future. The development also aligns with Circle’s broader strategy, including its recent entry into the Japanese market and its IPO filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Crypto-Powered Promotions for Sony Customers

To promote adoption, Sony is offering two exclusive campaigns for Crypto.com users. The first 50 customers who spend at least 300 SGD (approx. $223) in USDC via Crypto.com Pay will receive a LinkBuds speaker worth 299 SGD.

Additionally, the first 100 users who spend at least 150 SGD in USDC will receive a 20 USDC bonus credited directly to their Crypto.com accounts. Shoppers who meet both thresholds can unlock both rewards—doubling their benefits while embracing crypto payments.

The Bit Journal sees this as a signal of what’s to come: traditional brands forming deeper alliances with digital finance platforms to meet evolving consumer preferences.
