US Treasury targets MEXC over alleged illicit flows
The US Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued an order prohibiting covered US financial institutions from sending funds to, or receiving funds from, MEXC Global. It includes cryptocurrency transfers and takes effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register, according to BeInCrypto and Bitcoin Magazine. The order targets transfers involving US financial institutions; it does not say MEXC has already been disconnected from the US financial system.
MEXC’s user agreement already prohibits American customers, and the exchange also restricts users from Iran and North Korea, BeInCrypto reported. The order addresses how money moves through US financial institutions, including transfers connected to customers elsewhere. BeInCrypto said a European trader could, for example, have a transfer between MEXC and a US-regulated exchange rejected after the restriction takes effect.
FinCEN alleges that MEXC handled approximately $16.7 billion in suspected illicit transactions between May 2021 and May 2026, including nearly $1.5 billion linked to Russian sanctions evasion and more than $1 billion in direct transfers with Iranian crypto exchanges, according to BeInCrypto. These are allegations about activity identified by FinCEN, not a claim that every MEXC transaction was illicit. Read the BeInCrypto report on the MEXC order and allegations for its account of the figures.
Bitcoin Magazine described the measure as a FinCEN funds-transfer ban, not an OFAC sanctions designation. BeInCrypto noted foreign exchanges and banking partners may reconsider relationships with MEXC to avoid regulatory exposure. That remains a potential consequence, not a confirmed outcome.

Gnosis Pay says customer funds remain safe after breach
Cointelegraph reported that a breach at crypto debit card provider Gnosis Pay exposed card details, personal information and crypto wallet information. The provider said customer funds remained safe. The report doesn’t give the number of affected customers or the full scope of the incident.
Strive reports $509 million quarterly profit and more BTC buying
Bitcoin treasury company Strive reported $509 million in GAAP net income for the third quarter, the three months ending September 30, NewsBTC reported on November 7. Strive said it acquired 8,136 BTC during the quarter and 20,373 BTC in the first nine months of 2026. It reported buying another 15,124 BTC between October 1 and October 30.
These are company-reported acquisitions, not an independent estimate of available Bitcoin supply. Strive also reported $490.4 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 30, plus roughly $609 million in net proceeds from an offering of seven million SATS preferred shares that closed October 20. NewsBTC noted that financing and accounting gains matter alongside accumulation: preferred securities have terms and obligations unlike simply holding Bitcoin, so net income and purchases alone don’t show the full financial picture.
Bitcoin and Ether ETFs record uneven withdrawals
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net $411.9 million outflow on November 6, according to Farside Investors data cited by NewsBTC. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $403 million in outflows, while Fidelity’s FBTC had $42.8 million in inflows. The net figure therefore doesn’t reflect the same activity across every product. Flow data don’t reveal investors’ reasons or prove ETF activity caused a Bitcoin price move.
Ether ETF figures were negative for a different session. NewsBTC reported a $99.9 million net outflow on November 5, the latest complete daily total in its account. Its November 6 table still had unreported fields when reviewed, so that partial session isn’t a final total. These are dated snapshots, not evidence on their own of a lasting trend. See the report on Friday’s Bitcoin ETF outflows for the November 6 breakdown.
