Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading have signed up for the Truth Social API, a paid feed that gives subscribers faster access to Donald Trump’s posts, according to Reuters. People with direct knowledge of the matter told the agency the access costs up to $100,000 a month. It is the first reported case of named customers signing up for the product.
Why it matters
Trump’s posts can move financial markets, so seeing them earlier can be a trading advantage that everyday investors don’t have. The seller is a company in which a trust benefiting the sitting president holds 41%, and the arrangement is already being challenged in court.
What we know about the Truth Social API deals
Reuters broke the story on October 28, 2026, and Global Banking & Finance Review carried the exclusive, which names news and data provider Bloomberg alongside two Wall Street firms. Those two are Susquehanna and Jump, both high-frequency trading houses that run automated, algorithm-driven strategies. All three declined to comment.
Who signed up and what they get
The product is officially called Truth API. An API, or application programming interface, links one software system to another. Subscribers reportedly receive Trump’s Truth Social posts with an edge of about 50 milliseconds, according to a Newscord comparison of five outlets’ coverage.
Fifty milliseconds sounds trivial. For firms running automated, algorithm-driven strategies, though, a head start on posts that can swing markets is exactly the point. The Japan Times noted that the earlier access could hand Wall Street traders an advantage everyday investors simply don’t have.
Trump Media and Technology Group (ticker DJT), which owns Truth Social, announced Truth API in July 2026. In August it told investors it had more than 10 customer agreements, mostly with Wall Street trading firms paying $60,000 to $100,000 a month, NewsBytes reported. Trump Media defended the product in a statement to Reuters: “Truth Social offers an industry-standard API product for which there is significant demand across industries.”
Who owns the company selling the feed
A trust for Trump’s family holds 41% of Trump Media, and Trump is its only beneficiary. SEC filings list Donald Trump Jr. as trustee with sole voting and investment power, BeInCrypto reported. White House spokesman Davis Ingle said Trump and his family aren’t directly involved in portfolio investment decisions. He didn’t address the allegation that Trump is improperly using his office.

What is still unclear
The price each of the three firms pays hasn’t been disclosed. Market commentary account Wall St Engine put the general cost at $70,000 to $100,000 or more per month, but noted that pricing for these specific deals hasn’t been disclosed. It’s also unclear how many other subscribers exist beyond the “more than 10” Trump Media cited in August.
Is the Truth Social API legal?
That question hasn’t been settled. Reuters described these as likely the first sales of a sitting president’s statements by a company linked to him, and called the legal footing untested.
In August, Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation sued Trump, calling the paid service “profoundly corrupt.” They want the White House barred from using Truth Social as its only channel for official announcements while the paid feed operates, arguing that charging for access to government information could be unconstitutional. Separately, Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have asked the SEC to investigate whether the service violates securities laws. The lawsuit is still pending, and the coverage reviewed does not report any SEC response so far.
Market context
Trump Media’s shares have had a rough year. Citing Reuters, a KuCoin news flash said DJT shares have fallen more than 50% this year. The company is now valued near $1.8 billion, against about $8 billion at its March 2024 debut.
Crypto markets were drifting lower on October 29. There’s no evidence the news itself moved prices. CoinGecko data at 10:13 UTC showed this picture:
| Asset | Price (USD) | 24h change | 30-day change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | $80,088 | -1.59% | -4.43% |
| Ethereum (ETH) | $2,316.98 | -2.06% | -14.35% |
| XRP | $1.29 | -2.95% | -13.93% |
| Solana (SOL) | $100.16 | -2.58% | -15.88% |
Bitcoin traded between $79,636 and $81,698 over the prior 24 hours. It remains about 36% below its $126,080 all-time high from October 6, 2025. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index read 51 (Neutral) on October 29.
Critics’ core argument, echoed across the coverage, is about fairness rather than price. If a post can swing an asset, whoever sees it first can trade before everyone else reacts.

What it means for investors
For retail traders, the practical takeaway is that the race to react to presidential posts is now partly a paid one. Firms with a direct Truth Social API connection and automated strategies can act within milliseconds. A person refreshing an app can’t.
That matters for anyone trading on headlines, in crypto or equities. By the time a market-moving post reaches a phone, automated systems may already have reacted to it, and chasing the move risks buying near a short-term top or selling near a bottom. Crypto remains highly volatile, and positions can lose most or all of their value quickly, especially when leverage is involved.
DJT holders face a separate set of risks: a steep share decline this year, a flagship data product at the center of a lawsuit, and senators asking regulators to look closer. This is information, not a recommendation to buy or sell any asset.
What to watch next: any ruling in the press groups’ lawsuit, whether the SEC responds to Warren and Schiff, and whether Trump Media discloses subscriber numbers or revenue from Truth API in future filings.
Bottom line
Bloomberg, Susquehanna and Jump have reportedly bought early access to the president’s posts, turning speed on official statements into a subscription product. The pending lawsuit could decide whether that speed stays something Wall Street can buy.
